Glossy paint. The popularity of Glossy furniture is a trend of modern life. The Glossy was made of PE paint before, now Dickson's furniture is coated by PU paint (now, many high-quality pianos are coated by PU paint). The solidification of PE paint needs catalyst called the blue water and white water to solidify it, but blue water and white water can not be mixed with the 3 main colors, so the PE paint can only be in black or white. The disadvantage of it is that it will be polluted environment and if not mixed properly, it is easy to crack. However, as the improvement breakthrough of chemical industry, the PU paint can be hard but not easy to crack, tough but not easy to be scratched. To do best PU painting, the base coat must be very good. Otherwise, it is easy to be scratched and appear crimple, blister, etc. In order to reach the effect of soft smooth like mirror and being used durably like glass, the Glossy products of Dickson all adopt the paints made in Italy and every side must be coated by three layers of UV base coating, two to three layers of PU Glossy finish. At the same time, the thickness of every layer of the paint is set by large-scale thickness sander and at last it is high-speed polished. The polished PU Glossy paint is shinning and smooth due to the caloric power produced by high-speed polishing which ensures the Glossy surface not easy to be scratched.

(Some products on the market adopt PE paint while a smal lnumber of these are used PU paint. In order to save polishing process and achieve the Glossy effect, slow - drying water is added in the PU paint, as it can make the paint brighter. But there is negative effects that the hardness of the paint surface is insufficient, it is easy to be scratched or the base coating is not good enough, the surface and corner are not smooth, all of which made the out appearance of the products be short of sense of value obviously)

Tempered glass : It is usually made from silicon dioxide, sodium oxide, aluminum oxide, boron oxide, etc. The quality of glass has a lot to do with material and production equipment. Glass with high transparency is made from high-quality glass sand and tempered glass split into small particles without damaging people when it breaks after being hit by overload external force. The tempered glass can crack except the break caused of being hit by overload external force, there are also self-crack. The impact load depends on its quality standard and equipment technology and the rate of self-crack is based on the ratio of the air bubble in the glass. All the glass of Dickson adopts tempered glass of international standard to ensure products' quality and security. With high temperature of 300'C and self-crack capacity is one in ten thousand, this kind of tempered glass has an intensity that is 8 times higher than normal glass and the particles in the random scope of 50*50cm are more than or equal to 40 after cracking. Water based glass paint. The colored glass of Dickson is usually the five colors which are perfectly matched with the products of Dickson : white, dark grey, brown, rose red and beige. These paints are all water-based glass base coating and new glass base coating materials imported from Italy. Water-based glass base coating can be integrated with the glass surface completely and makes the colored glass color-solid, bright and durable. What's more, the water-based glass paint does not contain thinner and it is neither smell nor poison.

(The glass base coating for the normal glass furniture on the market adopts silk screen printing which has shortcoming of many small pores and is short of covering. Additionally, some furniture adopt the glass that is covered a sheet of colored membrane on the bottom layer of the glass. Acting as colored glass, this glass is short of real feeling, easy to bubble and extremely unendurable.)

Dickson imports 0.6mm veneer from France. The oak veneer are made into pieces with special equipment. For natural wood, it is inevitable to find scars, cross grains, crown cuts, bended parts and shades of colors. Ordinary veneers are ranked BC, those with scars and bended parts are ranked AB, those with cross grains and crown cuts are ranked A and the best veneers, those with fine grain not affected by scars, are ranked AA. No more than 10% of AA veneer can be used on furniture. Dickson Furniture uses A grade of furniture are coded to make sure they are from the same log, with the same fine grain, same natural color and are perfectly matching.

The cloth of sofa : The sofa cloth of Dickson generally adopts the cloth manufactured by the famous Italian factory – MARIO. The major components of Brando cloth include : 52% polypropylene, 45% cotton and 3% polyacrylic acid; the major components of Hugh cloth include : 50% polypropylene, 46% cotton and 4% polyacrylic acid; the Parson cloth is made of 100% polyester fiber which it is fireproof, and the weight is 490g/m2. There are colors of apricot, silver gray, purple, light brown and dark brown and other colors are optional. The shining metallic effect shows its nobleness. The sofa cloth of Dickson also adopts 100% micro-fiber cloth manufactured by WIBITEX and Plutone cloth. The major components of Plutone cloth include 78% cotton accounting and 22% polyester. There are many optional colors and the cloth is treated by antifouling and shaped treatment in Italy. Theses all reach international standard.

The design for disassembly of sofa : although the sofa cloth of Dickson is treated by antifouling, the surface antifouling material may disappear but the sofa is polluted after long-time using. So, we consider making the sofa for disassembly and divide the sofa cloth cover into several parts. This makes the disassembly and dry cleaning easy.

(If disassemble the whole sofa cloth cover for dry cleaning, it is hard to set well again without professional staff. And dry cleaning will also let it shrink a few and the bigger area is, the more the shrinkage is. Either it can not be set on the sofa again or it is set with difficulty, but the appearance is not as good as previous.)

The difference of hardware : the average consumer can not distinguish the different hardware easily by appearance, such as the hardware parts of legs , door frame and so on. Basically, all the exposed parts (the parts that is possible to produce oxidation by the air) of Dickson products are made of aluminum which is treated by polishing, wire drawing and sandblasting before anodizing. The process of polishing, drawing-wire and sandblasting makes the surface of aluminum generate Glossy and have more sense of thirddimension and the process of anodizing makes it neither rush nor peel. The anodized aluminum has the advantages of neither rusting nor peeling, but aluminum is softer than iron and not easy to be welded. So, special attentions must be paid on the structural requirements and usage of material thickness.(For example, the minimum thickness standard of Dickson’s aluminum door frame is 2mm, furthermore, it is treated by wire drawing and anodizing; the similar products of other brands only adopt 0.8mm-thick aluminum). There is no difference by appearance, but in fact, the products of adopting 0.8mm-thick aluminum are not enough in load bearing and non-durable.

Moreover, many products of other brands adopt normal iron pipes that are treated by simple plating or spraying a layer of powder paint on the surface are non-durable, too. This is because the density of normal iron is not enough and there are many small sand holes on it. Plating or spraying powder can not seal up the sand holes and the small sand holes begin to rust after oxidation in air for a long time. The rusting holes spread to cause extensive peeling. On the cost of raw material, the price of aluminum is much higher than the price of steel or iron.

Drawer is a part that is most frequently used in furniture. Usually, the loosening of the whole drawer is caused by the busting of the connecting part between the side panel of drawer and drawer front while the damage of drawer is caused by the missing of beads in the sliding runner, bending deformation and unsmooth sliding. No matter how perfect the design is the damage of one drawer means the whole furniture can not be used any more. It is conceivable that drawer plays an important role in furniture.

The side panel of drawer : The side panel of drawer of Dickson Furniture adopts Russia multi-layer birch veneer (it is made of 9 sheets in 1.3cm-thick veneer hot pressing longitudinally and horizontally.) this is the same with the top board of the sewing machine is made of 20 sheets of veneer (Usually, only the bottom sheet of the 12cm-thick plywood is made of better material while the inner part is made of coarse miscellaneous materials). On the cost, the price of multi-layer birch veneer is many times higher than the price of common plywood or density board, at the same time, its durability is many times higher than the top board of the sewing machine. Experiments shows that multilayer birch veneer is better than solid word because solid wood can appear bending while multilayer birch veneer can not.

The sliding runner of drawer. To ensure the service life of the drawer, beside using multi-layer birch veneer, Dickson also pays special attention to the sliding runner by adopting the sliding runner made by Hettich which has a history of more than 100 years. At present, three different kinds of Hettich sliding runner are used in Dickson’s furniture products : 1. Hidden automatic retreat runner (When close the drawer, impacting sound can be heard.); 2. Hidden automatic retreat runner with stopper (when close the drawer slightly, impact sound can not be heard); 3. Hidden automatic retreat runner with slam runner (When close the drawer heavily, impact sound can not be heard). The customer can request Dickson to add retreat runner if the drawer is not installed it or replace hidden automatic retreat runner with slam runner. The processing cost extra.
